Free Carotid Artery Screenings Now at Pioneer Valley Hospital, Jordan Valley Medical Center, and Salt Lake Regional Medical Center
In support of coronary artery health and National Stroke Awareness Month, Pioneer Valley Hospital, Jordan Valley Medical Center, and Salt Lake Regional Medical Center are offering free carotid artery screenings in May.
The screenings capture an image of the right and left carotid arteries, which supply blood to the head, and measure the thickness in the lining of the arteries. Abnormal thickness may be a sign of coronary artery disease. People who are age 40 or older or people with a family history of heart attack or stroke before age 55 are encouraged to get screened.
